This class is a gentle introduction to Fair Isle knitting (also known as Stranded Colorwork). You’ll learn the basics of this technique with a festive pattern that you can finish on your own. This class is perfect for the confident beginner (you can knit, purl, and read a pattern) or intermediate knitter.

You’ll need a size 6 circular needle (24” is best) and 100 grams/220 yards of a worsted weight wool in a dark or bright color and around 75grams of the same yarn in a light color. Solids/tonals are best for Fair Isle knitting but gradients are also fine. Handpainted yarns are gorgeous- but not for this class. You’ll also need a 14” pillow form, but you don’t need to bring it to class.
